The Hitler cult, an important element in Nazi ideology and propaganda, was ubiqui-tous in everyday life. Hitler was presented as the incarnation of the savior. His regime abolished general basic and human rights, replacing them with a unity of »Leader and People« ordained by »fate.« The adoration of Hitler was propagated by modern means, in particular by the publication in huge editions of volumes with illustrations and photos. But the cult was also a »product of society,« supported by the feelings and antipathies of the broad masses. |
